The Research Impact and Integration Team joined colleagues from around the state on September 7-8 for the 2nd California Adaptation Forum. Convened by the Local Government Commission in Long Beach, the 2016 California Adaptation Forum brought together a diverse audience of practitioners, policymakers, researchers, and community, regional, and state leaders committed to addressing California’s climate adaptation needs. The 2nd biennial conference featured an explicit orientation toward climate equity and justice, emphasizing the critical importance of centering these values and perspectives in every climate adaptation conversation. RII Team members Dani Boudreau and Ana Eguiarte contributed their experience and expertise in equity-oriented climate adaptation planning as presenters on the panel Working Outside Your Comfort Zone: Inspiring Hope with Diverse Partners.
