Social Ecology Graduate Student Researcher Kristen Goodrich joined an esteemed group of speakers in Tijuana, Mexico for Protección Civil Tijuana’s National Week of Preparedness. She presented strategies for understanding risks and building flood resilience before a major storm occurs. The event highlighted different actions that citizens can take to prepare for a myriad of potential disasters, ranging from tropical storms and cyclones to earthquakes. The 2016 event in Tijuana was convened in relation to Mexico’s National Day of Civil Protection on September 19.
